I found a Lark Sparrow at Nicholdale Farms in Shelton this afternoon. Feeding in an open grassy area underneath a tree at 41.33063° N, 73.16001° W. Unmistakable and unexpected surprise! Used to these being out west but not in CT! Dark black malars, plain white chest with dark brown/black spot in the center, dark brown typical “mask” on face (adult bird), white outers on tail and corners of tail. Was walking the dog and bird flushed after several minutes of watching it. Returning home now to come back with camera. Currently no photos have been obtained yet. EBird checklist to come, just wanted to get the word out.

Good Birding!,
