Third Thursday an evening for makers of all ages - and those who appreciate them - at the Washington State History Museum! FREE ADMISSION from 3:00-8:00 PM. It's the place to be this Thursday with the 3rd Annual Kids' Maker Market, the grand opening of the new store The Goods at the Museum, and hands-on fun with the Earthwise Architectural Salvage Makerspace!

Meet and shop for hand-crafted items from than two dozen entrepreneurial makers ages 4-18. They're bringing work created with extra TLC to sell at a special Kids' Maker Markethttp://www.washingtonhistory.org/visit/wshm/eventsprograms/spirit/, inspired by the exhibition Make/Do: A History of Creative Reuse.http://www.washingtonhistory.org/visit/wshm/exhibits/MakeDo/

The Kids' Maker Market will be held on August 16, Free Third Thursday, from 4:00-7:00 PM.

For visitors who want to make something of their own, gather at the Tinkertopia craft table! Shoppers can also enjoy free snacks while they peruse the Kids' Maker Market.

Get creative with Earthwise Architectural Salvage in the makerspace in the exhibition Make/Do: A History of Creative Reuse.They'll be here to facilitate all kinds of fun using scrap and salvage materials to make creations for the visitor-created exhibits in the makerspace. Get hands-on and see what you can do after being inspired by Make/Do.

Give yourself plenty of time to explore the exhibit, featuring 180 objects created via recycling, upcycling, and downcycling. Learn about the history of reuse in our state.

Be part of Recycle Runway's Coat of Hope - it's easy! Write your hope(s) on a strip of white Tyvek. Artist Nancy Judd will weave it into the coat, creating an ethereal cloud of hopes over time. The Tyvek is from the ends of rolls, and normally would have ended up in landfill. Thanks Nancy for salvaging it!
