The tunnels have been worth their weight in gold in the shallow

parts of the ICW, the FL Keys and the Bahamas. We hit bottom one time in
the NC ICW (in the channel) at better than 14 knots. I was sure that we
were damaged but inspection showed that the only damage was some bottom
paint abraded off. Also, the 44 easily does 20 knots at WOT without any
"coaxing". We rarely run at WOT. Maybe to make a bridge opening or to try
and dodge a thunder storm. - Ron
