View all threadsHi,
There are a few things in the current CSpace UI that seem to be placeholders for functionality that doesn't yet exist.
Media Snapshot: From the Cataloging screen (and elsewhere), the upper right area is reserved for the media snapshot. We all have been assuming at some point that related media records would display here, but I've never seen a jira for it. Our UCJEPS implementation is assuming this will be there sometime.
Report tab: One of the top level "tabs" just to the left of Administration is Reports. The only UI for reports is currently the "Run Report" widget that is on the Object screen and the Procedural records. From what I remember, no-context reports (i.e., those that aren't obviously tied to Objects or specific Procedures) will only be runnable from somewhere in the Administration tab (though this Reports tab might be a good place instead since not all users will have access to the Administration tab).
There are probably several other things like this. Should these "under construction" things be kept in the UI or taken out and added when they are actually developed?
Thanks,
Chris

This issue was filed about a month ago:
"Display image thumbnail(s) on Cataloging and other non-Media record pages"

Does it reflect what you are expecting?

As an FYI that's at least tangentially related to this topic, Yura
did some refactoring work in the UI to make it easier to add
additional pages under the Administration tab, such as a (future)
Reports management page:
http://issues.collectionspace.org/browse/CSPACE-4159
Beyond that, however, it's still a valid question: what is the
currently-intended purpose of the top-level Report tab, given the "Run
Report" widget and an upcoming Reports page under Administration?
Thanks for raising these two issues, Chris!
