NOAA is offering the most up to date BSB raster charts available for
immediate download and use on Mac OS X via the NOAA RNC site..

http://nauticalcharts.noaa.gov/mcd/Raster/download.htm

Use the "Textual" Chart Selection method to choose the charts you want
to download.  The downloaded zip will expand into a folder with the
same name.

Alternatively you can buy a CD for US$39.95 +$5.. S&H from GPSNavX at
http://www.gpsnavx.com/html/rasterDVD.html containing
all NOAA U.S. coastal charts, including Alaska, Hawaii, and the Great
Lakes. They’re in BSB 3 file format and should work fine with any Mac
or PC charting program that reads BSBs—which is just about all of them.
Note that the BSB 3 format is not encrypted.

Note too that these are the same charts available for free download at NOAA.

In case you have not looked at MacENC lately,

    sentence $__MTW.

    in "View" menu.

  • Dragging of raster chart more efficient.

  • Overview of raster chart more efficient.

  • Support for Furuno GPS allows transfer of waypoints  to and from the
GPS.  Set GPS type in the GPS panel "Settings" drawer.

  • COG will be ignored when SOG is less than 0.5 knots.

  • When a repeat port in the GPS Panel "Settings" drawer is specified
and a waypoint is made active the $GPBOD and $GPWPL NMEA sentence will
be created and sent in addition to $GPAPB, $GPBWC, $GPRMB and $GPXTE .

  • NASA single channel AIS receivers will automatically switch channels
    every 30 seconds.

  • Displayed BSB 1 - 3 Charts can be "Saved As" TIFF files.

Coming soon:

  • Support for encrypted international S-57 charts.

  • Configuration utility for Shipmodul Multiplexors.

  • A significant weather integration announcement.

  • SailMail client for OS X.

Just wish there was 25 hours in a day  :)

Happy Holidays!
