Common Grackle flock of hundreds just here in Washington, CT

Amazing. The largest flock of Common Grackles I have ever seen arrived here on South St in Washington, CT and then left. They were still frantically flying about the house here. I am at at loss to determine numbers I saw but I suspect that there were likely some where in area of 1,000 plus. It was amusing seeing them mob my solo black-oiled sunflower feeder.

That is an incredibly remarkable total for a backyard!

At Lighthouse Point Park, I believe the biggest estimate in November was 3 million.  Can you imagine if THOSE, had alighted?
