The journal Democratization has recently issued a call for special issues. In the call, the editors indicate that they are interested in exploring the relationship between democracy and artificial intelligence (AI). We would like to respond to this call with a proposal that examines the impacts of AI on political processes in democratic and authoritarian states, broadly conceived. The deadline for abstracts (~250 words) is December 12, 2021. For more details on the special issue we have in mind, please see the attached document. We would greatly appreciate it if you could distribute this call among the members of the ASA Section on Communication, Information Technology, and Media Sociology.
