Leishman joins FUBAR Odyssey organization

1st Update for February 2007

Jim Leishman joins FUBAR Odyssey Staff:

We are pleased to announce a new addition to our
staff. Jim Leishman - Owner/Vice President of
Nordhavn Yachts has joined us to coordinate the
Escort Vessels on the Rally.  Jim is a quiet
leader, bringing exceptional experience as having
led an around the world expedition with a
Nordhavn 40 and was the Captain for the 2004
Nordhavn Atlantic Rally with a Nordhavn 57.

He is the founder of PAE (Pacific Asian
Enterprises) with Dan Streech who in 1977 founded
Mason Yachts.  Jim and Dan teamed up with brother
Jeff Leishman, who was completing his degree in
Naval Architecture at the Yacht Institute in Blue
Hill, Maine; Jeffs design was 46 feet long and
debuted in 1989 as the Nordhavn 46.  Salvation
II, also a Nordhavn 46 went on to become the
first production boat to circumnavigate the world.

PAE builds long-range motor yachts over 80 and
Jim is still the active leader in marketing and
development.

Are you interested in shipping your boat home?

Return plans are underway to ship your boat on
the deck of another vessel. Destinations include
Ensenada, Victoria, BC, and possibly unloading
farther north.

We are selecting a shipping agent who will
coordinate with the participants and take
advantage of all the available alternatives.  The
shipping agent will work with you and others to
find the best method and the best deal to return
a group of boats to the West Coast for the
spring/summer cruising season.

Overview Seminar and Dinner scheduled for
Tuesday, March 27, 2007  mark your calendars.
Rally applications will be issued April 1, 2007
via email and on our website.

Bruce Kessler will MC the evening to answer all
the questions about the Rally during the evening.
Bar opens at 6 pm, Mexican buffet dinner about 7
pm and we will wrap up by 9 pm. We will have the
following experts:

  1. John Rains will talk about routes and distances;
    
  2. Pat Rains will discuss the cruising opportunities in Mexico;
    
  3. Jim Leishman will be available to discuss our fleet support operation;
    
  4. A representative will talk about fueling
    

opportunities in the Mag Bay area from Pacific
Provider;

  1. Gary Graham of Mag Bay outfitters to help
    

you explore the fishing in and outside Mag Bay
including the estuaries.

  1. A representative from Bellport Marina in
    

La Paz will be present to talk about what awaits
you upon arrival in La Paz.

Reservations will be required and is open to
everyone interested in learning more about the
Fubar Odyssey Rally in November 2007.
