Well when it comes to magazine evaluations, as long as magazines offer display
advertising and it's a major source of revenue, evaluations will always be
less than candid. This is not exclusive to the marine industry and is nothing
new. Currently the only publications in the U.S. that eschew display
advertising and consequently offer candid and objective evaluations are
Practical Sailor, and Practical powerboat.

I don't know if "Practical Sailor" is still being published, but
the companion publication "Powerboat Reports" has ceased
its publication with the May 2007 issue being the last issue.

I assume that is the "Practical Powerboat" magazine to which you referred.
