Hi all,

My schedule is approximately 8:30am to 5:00pm, depending on what my meeting schedule looks like.  I'm salaried, so my hours are fairly flexible, and, thankfully, my organization seems respectful of non-work obligations. I try to schedule doctor appointments for my children toward the beginning or ending of the work day, and then I just make up that time.  It's not too often, again thankfully, that we have meetings in the evening.  I rarely ever work in the evening or on a weekend, but is has happened.  I try my best to prevent that and am mostly successful, although my workload is quite heavy.

We get 20 days of vacation a year (after 7 years), and accrue 12 sick days a year, which can also be saved used for paternity leave.

Regards,

I don't mind sharing.
My schedule is 8:30 to 4:30 (35 hours per week).  Those hours are adjusted so I can pick my stepkids up from school when they are at our house (about 60% of the time) and I work longer hours when they are with their mom.
I am paid by the hour so when I attend council meetings (like tonight) that goes on my timesheet
In the New Year we are moving to a salary type compensation so we won't be counting hours but will make more to reflect that time.
I am well-compensated compared to what I was making in private practice but Fort McMurray is a bit of an anomaly.  I am busier now than I was ever in private practice and we have opened nearly 100 more files this year than all of last year.

We traditionally work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. but regularly work straight
through and into the evening.  There are spurts where we start at 6:30-7
a.m. and work until 9-10 p.m. (City Council or Board/Commission
Meetings) but it is not the norm.

My office is quite flexible and accommodating outside
appointments/errands.  It is recognized that we regularly put in more
than 40 hours.

Benefits are generous including 2 weeks of vacation until year 8 when
it increases to 3 weeks.  After 6 years we also receive longevity pay.
6 years = 1% longevity pay.  This increases until the maximum of 5% is
reached.

The City of Dubuque has a community service policy as well which allows
employees 16 hours/year to do volunteer work on City time.

Enjoy your Thanksgivings!
