To All -
Sorry for the spam, but I can't resist a safety note. You never know what's
going to happen on the River.
See Kieran's e-mail below. I heard the boat hit was Tony Martin's Nonsuch
Sheba on mooring H16. We hope the damage was less than what appeared, and
glad that no one was aboard at the time. Good call(s) by the Race Committee
last night. Most folks got in off the race course before the storm hit.
Moral of the story - don't mess with Mother Nature.

While we were heading from the racecourse, lightning struck the mast of a
nearby, moored boat, a shower of sparks cascaded from the radar dome, and a
huge cloud of white smoke arose. It looked like a stunt out of a Hall
Needham movie. Don Meeker quipped, "Oh, look they've elected a Pope."

Just to keep everyone up on what's happening, tonight's racing was cancelled
due to thunderstorms.
Maybe next week.
If you can help take visitors (potential new NBC members) sailing this
Saturday, please contact Amy Villalba as soon as possible
(villalbaae@hotmail.com) Only two cruising boats have signed up so far for
our Open House and more are needed, especially if it's a beautiful day. This
is a chance to do something for our Club, and show outsiders how wonderful
we are.
See you on the water.
