Good Morning Neighbors,
I have a question for those of you who use Mike at On The Level Septic.
According to the contract I'm looking at, the service does not include
chlorine tabs, and the customer must provide those. Do you leave them out
for him? Mike has done ours several times, and never told me I need
chlorine tabs. The invoice notated a certain number of chlorine tabs, but
the technician I've asked didn't give me a straight answer.
Does anyone use a different provider you are happy with?
Thanks!
Nancy S.

Mike adds tablets, as needed, and invoices them. I think $1 each. We don’t provide them ourselves.

I add my own tablets as needed once or twice a month, considering the checks on our septic system per the contract are quarterly. If I waited to add tablets once everything 3 months, the spray could be horrible I imagine.
I purchase a tub of tablets at Home Depot, and usually add 4-5 tablets at a time. They are Calcium Hypochlorite tablets. Lowe’s also sells a tub of tablets.

We use South Texas Wastewater for our septic tank maintenance and we
haven't ever had to add our own tablets. Our grey water sprayers have
also never had an odor, so, it would seem, we haven't needed to do
anything between their visits, either. We've been highly pleased with
the service they've provided, too.

We have used On The Level for about six years and have never been asked to
put in chlorine. However, we have an underground drip system instead of the
sprayers so it may be that it doesn't require it. We've never had a
problem...
