Boat vandalized - update

Thank you all for your well wishes. My wife and I really upset about the
damage to the boat, but we are doing our best to muddle through the
bureaucracy of our insurance claim. The police haven't caught anyone yet.
They are still processing fingerprints and blood evidence - hopefully they
will identify someone.

On the recommendation of one of the list-members I contacted Petrini
shipyard in Annapolis. They came out tonight to look things over this
evening. Has anyone else ever had any experience with this yard good or bad?
Any input will be helpful. I also tried to call Southern Cross Yacht Repair
in Annapolis that does work at Bert Jabins. Anybody ever dealt with them.

I appreciate all the referrals for Washburns and Zimmermans, which I
understand are both wonderful yards. Unfortunately they are too far and too
busy for me to use either of them right now.

Unless they have changed since January, Southern Cross is based at Port
Annapolis, but will probably work anywhere in Annapolis. Probably more
efficient to let them do it where they have their shop.

Southern Cross Yacht Repair gives you a detailed estimate prior to
commencing work. They stick to it. There work is essentially perfect, which
is why I told you offline that they might be hard to engage. They installed
my windlass and a new head in a hurry - no complaints and they let me watch
and help, a little. The owner made and prepared a new teak pad overnight,
lugging the windlass to his shop to get it right. It is perfect. They are
not cheap, but neither is the quality of their work.

You would be in very good hands.

Just a satisfied customer.
