April Policy Call

JC
Jeff Carter
Wed, Apr 1, 2015 3:30 AM

NCL Members,

I need a volunteer to facilitate our regularly scheduled policy call tomorrow at 4pm — OR else I am happy to postpone it until next week.

If someone would like to plan/facilitate the call in my absence, please let me know by 9:30 tmw. If no one responds, we’ll reschedule it for next Wednesday, April 8th, at 4pm.

I will let you know what the plan is by 10am tomorrow.

Sorry for the hassle. Just realized I have a conflict.

Thanks,

Jeff

Quick reminder that we will hold our rescheduled policy call tomorrow at 4pm. Here is the call-in info:

605-477-2100
Pin: 240804#

On a related note: if you follow WIOA very closely, you undoubtedly know about this already -- but for everyone else who may be interested but haven’t heard yet, the draft regulations for WIOA were released last week.

There are five Notices of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRMs) in all. I believe that the two critical NPRMs for our field are:

Title II Adult Education and Family Literacy Activities
https://federalregister.gov/a/2015-05540

Unified and Combined State Plans, Performance Accountability, and the One-Stop System
(I would especially draw your attention to Subpart A—State Indicators of Performance for Core Programs, starting on page 50)
https://s3.amazonaws.com/public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2015-05528.pdf

For the curious and/or masochistic, all of five of them are posted here:
https://www.federalregister.gov/public-inspection.

Comment period begins April 16, 2015. At which point you’ll have 60 days to get your comments in. We will discuss tmw.

Jeff,
I don’t think I am getting the general email notices. I am getting emails from you on the advocacy list but I don’t think I am getting the others - I think things are going to the old mcael account. Is there someone I could email about this?
