Visitors:
Visitors included the Ojibway Nature Centre's birding group and two
visitors from Southhampton, England who were enjoying a two week visit in
Canada.

Weather:
Sunny with light winds from the South South West with temperatures of 29
degrees by late morning.

Raptor Observations:
A few American Kestrels and Sharp-shinned Hawks were seen passing the tower
between 8:00 a.m and 9:00 a.m. EST.

Non-raptor Observations:
The Ojibway Nature Centre's weekday  birding class was on the tower between
9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to hear the calls of dozens of Sora Rails (as
estimated by Paul Pratt) as the marsh offers lots of cover this fall  with
one Sora seen close to the tower. Other sightings included 2 Solitary
Sandpipers, numerous ducks including Blue-winged and Green Teal, American
Widgeon, Wood Duck, Mallards and American Black Ducks.  A flock of 14
Bobolinks flew by the tower along with numerous swallows including Purple
Martin, Tree Swallow and Rough-winged Swallow. A single American Avocet
was seen in Big Creek Marsh.  Three Northern Harriers hunted back and
forth over the marsh and two local Bald Eagles were noted.
