Heavy fiberglass construction, semi-displacement hull and a deep keel make
Winship a very stable, safe and comfortable boat even in the most severe
North Pacific weather.
With a reliable and economical engine, and a range of approximately 2000
miles, she’s ready to head out on your next adventure to almost anywhere.
Wide, walk around decks protected by high bulwarks and safety railings make
this a safe boat for cruising with children, dogs and cats.
The accommodations are optimized for a cruising couple, a young family or
live-aboards.
*Cockpit:
*The fully-covered cockpit is spacious, open and suitable for entertaining
or fishing.
With the full canvas and Isinglass enclosures, this is a great boat for 12
month cruising.
A large custom freezer is mounted on the forward bulkhead in the cockpit.
On top is a 220-VAC cooktop, s/s sink with hot and cold water and adequate
room for a barbecue and wet bar.
Connections for shore power, telephone, TV and hose bibs for fresh and salt
water are below.
Auxiliary helm, engine and thruster controls are also located in the
cockpit.
Halogen lights are overhead and LED courtesy lights are near the sole.
A locking deck hatch provides access to the lazaret and engine room.
Saloon:
Entrance to the saloon is through a watertight door.
To port, and seating six people comfortably, is a two leaf electric Hi-Lo
cherry wood dining table.
Behind the table is an unusually comfortable, custom made, settee with
storage space underneath.
To starboard are two custom upholstered swivel chairs with a built-in
cabinet between them.
Large windows, fitted with Levolor blinds, create a bright and airy interior
and window covers provide sun protection when needed.
All interior paneling and cabinetry on Winship are of natural cherry
heartwood with mahogany trim.
Headroom through out the boat is 7 feet and headliners are of soft foam
backed vinyl.
All is carpeted except for the teak & holly soles in the galley, head and
under the pilot house table.
Sound insulation is under the saloon carpeting.
Standard throughout the boat are 12-VDC Halogen lights, both in the overhead
and on the bulkheads for reading, most are on dimmers.
Also standard, both inside and on deck are LED courtesy lights, located just
above the sole.
110-VAC electricity is available throughout the boat.
*Galley:
*Forward, separated from the saloon by a pony wall and storage cabinets
above, is the large fully equipped U-shaped galley.
Counters, back-splash and integral sink are all of Corian.
Generous storage space is available both above and below the counters.
Equipment includes a 220-VAC cooktop, hood and exhaust blower and built in
convection microwave.
To eliminate noise and heat in the cabin and staterooms, the compressor for
the large custom-built, under the counter refrigerator/freezer has its
remotely installed.
The galley sole is teak and holly parquet.
*Master stateroom:
*From the saloon, full sized carpeted steps lead either up to the pilot
house or down to the staterooms. Going down, one enters the full width
master stateroom with a walk around queen bed flanked by two night stands.
Three hanging lockers, cabinets, drawers and bookshelves line both sides of
the stateroom.
*Head:
*Forward is a spacious head with handcrafted ceramic sink, large wall
mirrors and Vacu-flush toilet.
The large and separate shower stall has a built in seat, a screened opening
port and exhaust blower.
*Guest stateroom:
*Further forward is a stateroom with a single and a twin berth to port and a
single berth to starboard.
Generous storage lockers are beneath.
*Pilot house:
*Entrance to the large pilot house, with its unobstructed 360 degree
visibility, is from the saloon or from either port or starboard side decks.
Reverse slanted windows reduce the collection of rain and spray as well as
glare.
Canvas covers are provided for all pilot house windows.
The helm is on the centerline and controls for the engine, bow thruster,
defrosters, heaters, window wipers and the manual/automatic fire
extinguisher systems are all conveniently located.
Electronics include: a color GPS/chart plotter/radar, rate compass, auto
pilot, depth sounder, two VHFs, air horns, hailer, inverter monitor, fuel
vacuum gage, anemometer, computer connections, LCD monitor and an FM radio
with CD player.
Also close at hand is the ships master electrical panel.
Aft is a custom designed L-shaped settee which seats four comfortably.
In front of the settee is an adjustable Hi-Lo table over a raised teak and
holly parquet sole.
Behind the settee is a watch berth and to starboard is a large single seat
settee
*Foredeck:
*The pilot house is protected by a sturdy, 39” high, Portuguese bridge.
Anchor windlass located well forward and a hands-free wash-down system
cleans the anchor rode as it is retrieved.
A watertight hatch opens to the commodious chain locker with sufficient
storage space for several hundred feet of chain, rode, fenders, extra lines,
etc - all the tackle necessary for coastal traveling.
The chain locker is separated from the rest of the boat by a watertight
collision bulkhead.
For crew safety the foredeck is surrounded by 33” high by 1.25” stainless
steel railings.
*Boat deck:
*A stainless steel swing-down ladder leads to the boat deck.
For crew safety the boat deck is surrounded by 33” high by 1.25” stainless
steel railings and illuminated by spreader lights.
This deck is sufficiently large for two 14 to 16' shore boats with room to
spare.
