From Randy Domina:
2/29 - Simsbury, Simsbury Farms on Old Farms Rd -- 8 PINE GROSEAKS in
the fruit tree on the left as I went up the entrance road to the
Farms.
From Jamie Meyers:
2/29 - West Simsbury, Simsbury Farms, Old Farms Rd -- 4 PINE GROSBEAKS
in roughly the same spot that Len Kendall found them the other day,
about 100 yards up the access road to the golf course in a fruiting
tree on the left.
From Paul Cianfaglione:
2/29 Simsbury, Simsbury Farms Park -- 2 female PINE GROSBEAK.
From Steve Morytko:
2/29 - Ashford yard -- The Red-headed Woodpecker is still present in
our yard (288 Varga Rd). It will be 5 months if it's still here on
March 7.
From Paul Carrier:
2/28 - Burlington, Town line Rd -- 2 PINE GROSBEAKS eating with 100+
Robins. This is the farthest south I have seen them this year here in
CT. I think the food is now getting more scarce for these birds. The
2 PGs were eating in with the robins from Multaflora Rose bushes, and
most Robins were eating from Sumac, both plants are close to last
resort foods for at least the Robins. Hope the supply lasts past the
snow we are going to get Friday.
