Bellevue is a vibrant and desirable city for both homeowners and businesses. While not growing at a rate as rapid as the 1990s and early 2000s, Bellevue is still seeing year-over-year growth in its population. Bellevue's continued growth and its potential impact on the safety of Vuecrest residents has been a hot topic recently. On Wednesday, February 25th, the City of Bellevue released its 2025 annual crime report. According to the Bellevue Police Department, Bellevue experienced a significant drop in overall reported crime and property crimes in 2025. Bellevue Police reported overall crimes for the city declined 27% (5,698 crimes) when compared with 2024 (7,828 crimes). Additionally, property crimes (robbery, theft, vandalism, burglary, etc.) dropped by an unprecedented 33% (4,412 crimes) for 2025 compared with the previous calendar year (6,546 crimes).
For those interested, the full 2025 crime report can be read via a link within an article found here: http://bellevuewa.gov/city-news/crime-drops-again
Bellevue continues to be a safe place to live. Please reach out to the Safety Committee (safety@vuecrest.netmailto:safety@vuecrest.net) with any safety issues or concerns.

Trash/Recycle/Yard waste tote etiquette
Here's a few reminders regarding trash/recycle/yard waste tote etiquette in the Vuecrest community.

  • Totes should be put out the day before collection and then pulled back in the day after collection
  • Totes should be stored on your property in a place not visible from the street
  • Place totes at or nearest the end of your driveway for collection only
  • Secure all bin lids in the down position, especially the garbage bin to ensure lids are down and garbage is contained and helps keep birds and other critters from making a mess before collection
  • Ask a neighbor to put your totes out or bring them in if you are planning to be out of town
  • Never leave totes out on the street for an extended period
  • Promptly clean-up any trash or other debris that may have occurred near your property during collection day
