Hello work and talk listers!
Over the next couple of weeks, Jesse Martinez will be updating and upgrading the CollectionSpace wiki, bug tracker (Jira), and website. These tools are all still hosted by MMI, so we'll be working to get everything backed up, off the MMI servers, onto new servers, and then updated to the most current versions. At some point, each of these tools will need to be frozen for migration and update. Jesse will let everyone know in advance when this will happen, and what the anticipated downtime will be.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks,
Megan

Hi all,
Like Megan mentioned, I am working on migrating and updating a few of the
important CSpace systems. Part of that process is complete as I have moved
over the Drupal website over to an existing CSpace server. And I am nearly
complete in migrating and updating the project Jira system over to a new
server. I ask that the team hold off on editing or adding any new issues
for the next few hours while I wrap up and test the newly upgraded Jira
instance. The existing Jira instance is still available but any changes
will not be reflected in the new instance. I will send a new email when the
update is complete and access is restored.
Thanks,

Hi all,
The Jira migration and upgrade is complete. There is a ticket in queue to
update the DNS records for both the new and old Jira instances. In the mean
time, it is fine to access the new Jira instance at this temporary URL:
http://newjira.collectionspace.org/ I will send out another email when the
DNS change is complete and the original URL is then pointing to the new
instance.
Please let me know if you come across any broken links, missing
functionality or any concerns you may have with the new Jira instance.
Thank you for your patience.

Please let me know if you come across any broken links, missing functionality or any concerns you may have with the new Jira instance.
So far, just about everything I've tried has worked great. From
initial use, there are a few trivial behavior differences perhaps
worth mentioning, (beyond obvious changes that might be expected due
to the significant version upgrade):
- When on an issue page, typing a period (.) is, as previously, a
keyboard shortcut to access a list of actions you can perform on that
issue. You can then type additional keystrokes to add links, clone an
issue, etc.
However, typing period followed by the letters 'li' now goes to Epic
Link, not Link. You now need to type a period and the full word
'link' to access Link.)
- When clicking a permalink to a comment (the
sort-of-like-an-infinity-sign icon in the upper right of that
comment), the full comment URL flashes in the browser's location bar
but then goes away. While that's cleaner looking, to copy the
permalink to the keyboard now requires right-clicking on that icon.)
(BTW, the new JIRA now fixes a scrolling issue with permalinks that
was present in at least Mac Firefox, where visiting that link would
put you somewhere within the middle of the comment, or even further
away from your intended target.)
The following two issues are specific to the Activity Stream widget

The following two issues are specific to the Activity Stream widget
- a very handy real-time list of what everyone is doing in JIRA, that
you can add to your Dashboard:
1. Clicking the "Read More >>" link in activity entries doesn't seem
to do anything: it doesn't take you to the issue and/or comment, as it
did before.
2. In Mac Safari and Chrome (not Firefox), the "Show more ..."
button at the bottom of the Activity Stream doesn't appear in the
default "Full view', until you click one of the icons in this widget's
header to switch views.

Hi all,
Just an update to notify the community that the new Jira instance is
available at the usual URL issues.collectionspace.org If you don't see the
new instance please wait a few minutes for the DNS changes to propagate.
Please use the issues.collectionspace.org URL instead of the temporary one
I gave out yesterday.
The old Jira instance will remain available for the near future at
oldissues.collectionspace.org
