There were a couple long-tailed ducks @ Long Beach Stratford about 2 hours ago.

Sorry for the late notice. They were swimming and diving, like they do. :)

Hi Cindi!

I hope all is well with you and yours.
Long Beach is a place where flocks of Long-tailed Ducks winter. It seems they feed on the abundant shellfish (oyster) beds offshore. At this time of year, they stage and court there, before migrating north to the tundra. On Wednesday I estimated 1000 there.
