The Green Tacoma Partnership invites volunteers to join a growing team of
dedicated Habitat Stewards in Tacoma!
The annual GTP Habitat Steward training is geared to volunteers interested
in adopting an open space or natural area located in Tacoma on public lands
such as parks and gulches to conduct voluntary habitat restoration
activities such as invasive species removal and planting of native plants.
With 27 Habitat Stewards trained since the training began in 2009, we are on
our way, but we still have many sites that are not stewarded. We need your
help! Adopt an area as an individual, as a family, as a team, club,
faith-based group or businesses - the more the merrier! Attending the
training will give you the tools and resources and ongoing support to be
able to conduct restoration activities and lead volunteer work parties.
The training will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Tacoma Nature
Center from 9:30am-3:30pm.
This is a FREE training that will include indoor and outdoor components.
Please dress appropriately.
Lunch will be provided.
Space is limited.
