The employees of Parks Canada [Trent and Rideau Canal Systems] have agreed
to a negotiated settlement to the current labour dispute. Ratification vote
to take place in the next few days. Looks promising at this point.

Sheena was stuck at lock 7 for 6 nights. We got the clearance to proceed on
Sat May 18
Currents are swift and water is high but we made it to Brewerton without
incident (as long as you don't count the snow and frost we had). Our
travelling companion hit the wing wall at lock 10 and is in Brewerton
getting repair estimates. It was an ugly incident and we were sick at the
damage. Cause was high current at the lock from the dam. Later in the day
they opened two more dam doors.
We had to sign a waiver to travel from lock 23 to lock 1 on the Oswego
system where they made us sign another waiver.
Take care and wait it out if you aren't in any hurry. The Rideau and Trent
are also closed.
Mike & Sue
Sheena II
currently in Oswego and crossing the lake tomorrow (fingers crossed)
