Sanford,

It would be worth speaking with Crowther's office if you are interested in a
Trawlercat Marine project. Steve Coates or Brett Crowther had a bit to do
with him at the initial start up, that's where the concept drawings started.
Quite a few builders in Canada and Northern US states as well as one in Sth
China since then.
steve@incatcrowther.com or brett@incatcrowther.com.  You may have to call
them as they are quite busy and concentrate on the commercial market so
emails about TCM may not get a response. Ph. +61 2 9450 0447

I researched extensively the Trawler style Powercat options when we started
our design. Even corresponded several of TCM's original builders, the one in
China still had moulds of a TCM boat and had one boat on the factory floor
tied up in litigation with them. According to Crowther the design they did
for TCM was too preliminary to be used for construction and don't like their
name associated with it so we started from scratch instead of trying to buy
old moulds with litigation attached and major adjustments required.
One of our 55ft long range displacement versions is a trawler style-the Nth
Sea model, I would be interested any feedback once you have done the
homework. Everything in the final result has been purposely done for
specific reasons, balancing up one option vs. another based on feedback from
Power Catamaran owners and from our own experience passage making on Cats.
Feedback on the compromises in balancing the design requirements is always
good.
My favourite acronyms for BOAT: for designers its "Balance Of All Things",
for owners/builders its "Break Out Another Thousand", Because it's "Broken
Or About To"
Why do we love this business!
