Water Main project - Belfair Road, Vineyard Crest and Belfair Lane
Earthwork Enterprises is replacing the aging AC water main with new ductile
iron pipe. Most of the work will done in the roadway, and will also be in
the landscape areas to install new fire hydrants and replace water services
if needed. If the existing water service is copper they will reconnect to
it, if it is another material such as plastic or galvanized, they will need
to replace the complete service line from the new water main to the meter
box. Most meter boxes are located somewhere in front of the house at the
right-of-way line which is usually in the landscape area. When all is
complete they will install a permanent asphalt patch over the water main
trench they will also restore the landscape areas. If they need to put
grass seed down they will come back at a later date when the weather is
better.
There are two sites in Vuecrest; they have started at the 1000 block of
Belfair Rd. will continue on Vineyard Crest to the intersection of Vineyard
Crest & Belfair Ln. down Belfair Ln to the intersection of Belfair Rd. &
Belfair Ln. This site will take 3 - 4 weeks to complete all water related
work then Earthworks will schedule the asphalt work which will take 1 day to
complete. The second site is at the intersection of Belfair Rd. & Park Rd
east on Belfair Rd to 915 Belfair Rd. this work will take 2-3 weeks to
complete plus the asphalt work. There will be water main shut downs so they
can tie in the new water main to the existing system. Door tags will be
hung two days prior to the shutdown with the date and time of the shutdown.
