On Sunday, September 11th, 7-9 pm, we will be meeting in my studio in the Merlino Art Center to discuss and brainstorm creative strategies for navigating the end of THIS world and ways to rebirth the next one. We are exploring ways that our art practices might be inspired by emergent strategies* to help our communities move through the traumas of this time with compassion and resourcefulness.  People are encouraged to bring materials that they are working on to share with others.

If you are interested in joining us or have questions, please contact me, Beverly Naidus, bnaidus@uw.edumailto:bnaidus@uw.edu for the entry code to my studio and let me know more about what you want to explore in our time together.

The studio is not ADA compliant (there are many stairs to climb) and you will need to bring a chair or cushion to sit on, a water bottle, and a journal.

Donations for the facilitation are gratefully accepted. On Venmo @Beverly-Naidus

*"Emergent Strategy is an ideological amalgam that inspires and supports the development of social justice movement and transformation towards a world of dignity and wholeness. It is a set of principles and elements that continually turn us towards life in the midst of violence and devastation. Based on the teachings of Grace Lee Boggs, Octavia Butler, the natural world and complexity science were observed, synthesized and organized by adrienne maree brown into the book we have today. Emergent Strategy is rooted in Black feminist , abolitionist and anti-capitalist thought with deep love for the earth and all life.” https://esii.org/
