Do you have a small project in mind that could benefit salmon, create habitat or improve water quality in the Puyallup or Chambers-Clover watersheds?  Are you interested in helping others learn more about our environment?  Perhaps you have a great idea, but need a little money to get your project off the ground?

If you answered "yes" to these questions, consider applying for a grant through the Puyallup/Chambers-Clover Small Grants Program!

Small awards up to $2500 are available for organizations, schools and individuals to conduct projects that address water quality and habitat issues within the Puyallup River and Chambers-Clover Creek watersheds.  Such projects may include watershed education and outreach, enhancement or restoration activities, and purchase of equipment and supplies for larger watershed projects.  Project proposals will be evaluated based on benefit to water quality, habitat, and public involvement and education.

More information can be found on the Pierce County Salmon Recovery Lead Entity website at www.piercecountywa.org/srfb.  Click on "Puyallup/Chambers-Clover Small Grants Program" to find out how to apply.

Grant applications are due Friday, August 1st, 2008.

This grant program is sponsored by Pierce County Surface Water Management, Pierce Conservation District and City of Lakewood, through a grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and the Salmon Recovery Funding Board.

Please contact Melissa Paulson, Pierce County Surface Water Management, 798-4686, if you have any questions about this funding opportunity.
