I think most of us in the powercat industry have known for years when it comes
to seakindlyness a design such as the Royale is the ultimate, the problem is
there is almost no retail market for a design such as this.

Pat, I'm glad to hear that we finally can see eye to eye on an issue!
A fifty foot boat with thirty foot accomodations is a tough sell.
With a few concession to cruiseability and day to day practicality that
design concept might find a market. The added benefits of being distanced
from the machinery, balance and stability afforded by virtually
unlrestricted tankage placement and the soft, dry ride might speak to a
number of buyers.-

Bert, we know Pat Reischmann is a key player at Manta Catamarans, but
who are you? Are you in the marine trade or an individual consumer
like most on the List?

Georgs, I like to consider myself an individual player with a discerning
interest and a critical eye.
I'm keen to get more info on the Globetrotter as the link was rather short
on detail. Was the Nigel Irens boat a totally "one off" effort or have there
been lesser known spin-offs?
In regard to Mr. Tennant's observation about the limitations of
wave-piercers in mooring and anchoring: Our friend habitually anchors his
single-handed sailing cat, Pantera, "backwards" off the stern to overcome
accessibility issues.
I realize that the hullshape of sailing cats is more suited to deal with the
wave action at anchor. Just a thought.
