Finally a non-commuting day corresponded with a sunny morning over
Spectacle Brook Swamp.

Some of the spring arrivals have moved on.  Not found were Black-throated
Green, Northern Parula, Ovenbird and Blackburnian Warblers.

But the flycatchers finally made an appearance today, and a beautiful
Magnolia Warbler is spending the morning in the shrubs next to our yard.

This morning's count was 46 species - highlights included:

  • Wood Thrush & Veery
  • A passing Fish Crow
  • Eastern Wood-pewee
  • Willow Flycatcher (back again)
  • Eastern Kingbird
  • At least two Northern Waterthrush
  • Warblers: Black&White, Common Yellowthroat, Magnolia, Redstart, Yellow,
    Blackpoll and Black-throated Blue
  • Sparrows:  White-throated (straggler), Chipping, Swamp and Song
  • Yellow-bellied Sapsucker

Not enough of these mornings this year.  But very welcome!
