Observation start time: 07:30:00
Observation end  time: 15:30:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter:        Sean Jenniskens

Observers:        Carol Pitts, Chad Saladin, Chris Saladin, Ed Pitts,
Michael Williamson

Visitors:
The Saladins were around for part of the day again today before heading
back home. Tony and Carol Kemp of Owen Sound joined us on the tower for a
few hours today as well. Unfortunately, the birds for the most part were
far out to the north, and visitors had a hard time enjoying them.

Weather:
South and southwesterly winds all day along with perfectly imperfect clear
skies.

Raptor Observations:
A decent flight today, again mostly Turkey Vultures. Most of the Vultures
today were very far ou to the north; towards the end of the day, you could
see them pass behind the furthest wind turbines to the north. The furthers
turbines appear to be around 6km (3.7miles) away! There was also a decent
count of N. Harriers with 14 - this included multiples of each age/sex
category. The highlight though was a very unexpected dark morph
Rough-legged Hawk around 4pm local time. This is our 5th Roughie of the
year already!

Non-raptor Observations:
Lots of ducks on the marsh today, Gadwall being most numberous with
approximately 705 being estimated. 1050 Blue Jays were counted migrating,
as well as 22 Horned Larks. 2 more Pine Siskins were counted today as well.
Full eBird checklist located here:
http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S40001843?share=true A total of 10
Monarchs were counted today. For the second time this month, I was stung on
the finger by a wasp.

Predictions:
Similarly imperfect.
