ICE has recently stopped honoring writs from our courts (court orders ordering ICE to make their detainees available to our courts for various criminal cases) because Denver does not honor detainer requests or do secure hand-offs for people leaving our jail. Is anyone else seeing this?

Katie - will ask and find out if this is happening in Sacramento.
I have a somewhat related question to tack on - we just learned this morning that all access to the immigration court is being denied to anyone unless the individual has a specific case or the attorney is specifically assigned to a case. This has resulted in attorneys who volunteer in local immigrations rights organizations and other advocates from being able to get access to the courtrooms. The courtrooms/hearing rooms are contained in federal buildings - and security is denying access out of concern for recent protests and employee safety. Apparently the court personnel themselves are cooperative and have no concern with the access- but the building security firm for the federal building has been ordered to deny access. Is anyone seeing that happen in their communities?
