The river charts are digitized versions of relatively new paper charts.
I was pleased with the amount of "outside the channel" detail they include.
I used these on my Nobeltec PC-based nav system.
We did the Tennessee to Knoxville and back in 2006. Great trip!

I put together a trip planning guide in Excel for our trip.
http://loopcruiser.com/Documentation/TennPlanner.xls
It lists the anchorages and marinas that Fred Myer had suggested in his then
current cruising guide.
I would use the Upstream/Downstream tabs to estimate my days running time.
By checking the cell (an "*" in the STOP column) where we chose to stop I
reset the timer and distance meters.
Have a great trip...

Subject: GL: Tennessee River Navigation Charts
We have our trawler at Green Turtle Bay and are planning a
trip this spring up the Tennessee river at least as far as
Knoxville. Does anyone have charts from Pickwick upriver to
Knoxville. I am frustrated with the Corps of Engineers site
and the books seem to be still out of print. Let me know
please, I'll be happy to purchase. I will also need the
charts from Pickwick to Mobile if you have them...but those I
can get new if I have to.

Coe enc charts are in an S-57 format that can not be display by Nobeltec after version 9.7. Rosepoint's Explorer can use all formats including c-map after their the very recent agreement with Jepensen. I currently use Nobeltec Admiral MaxPro 10.7 however am on the edge of switching to Rosepoint. Nobeltec has told me that they plan to quit supporting Admiral in 2016 and their current support has been very marginal as they are pushing Trident , the time zero engined.version which will require purchasing new charts if you want c-map cartography. Hoping for some sort of incentive from club jepensen to convert my 8 regions of c-map max pro charts to an Explorer friendly format.
