The National Coalition for Literacy (NCL) will host our next in-person membership meeting on Thursday, May 14th from 10am–4pm, in Washington, DC, exact location TBD. Our Literacy Leadership Awards Event, co-hosted by the House Adult LIteracy Caucus will be held on the evening of the 14th from 5:30pm-7:30pm in the Rayburn Gold Room.
An announcement about the winners will be posted shortly.
We’re working on the program for the members meeting. In addition to the usual invitation to OCTAE, we’re working on presentations on the SNAP E&T pilot projects and the SNAP program generally (http://www.fns.usda.gov/2014-snap-e-t-pilots); and on the Federal Strategic Action Plan on Immigrant and Refugee Integration released by the White House Task Force on New Americans (https://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/docs/final_tf_newamericans_report_4-14-15_clean.pdf). Additional suggestions welcome.

Yes. All of the membership events - member meeting and awards will be on Thursday the 14th.
The board meeting will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 13th. I’m about to send a note to the board list with details.

Yes, I agree.
I didn’t get a good sense from our last policy call as to which among NCL members is planning to comment on the regs. I assume ProLiteracy will, but they were noncommittal during the call. I assume also that Gail Spanenburg’s group will. Will World Ed?
Hopefully, enough members will be familiar enough with them for us to have a productive discussion!

CLASP is definitely working on comments to the Title II NPRM. I can share
a draft version when that's useful.
