Living Building Lecture Series: May 7th at noon!
It's Bike Month! Join us for a "Bikes, Business, and the Urban Design" luncheon with Kristina Walker, Downtown On the Go. From "Bikenomics" to good bike design, cities all over the country are designing for the positive effects of people on bikes. There is good data to suggest that having people on bikes is good for our communities and our quality of life. We'll take a look at what works, what doesn't, and who's designing well for active transportation. We'll also take a look at city code to see what's working and what isn't. The City of Tacoma, along with most cities our size, recently incorporated higher bike parking requirements into their development code. Join the discussion on how the transportation environment meets the built environment and how we can design to create spaces that facilitate access to active transportation for all users.
