Write253 is excited to host our first summer poetry and spoken word camp
for teens: DOWNTOWN POETS.

The camp will take place *August 6-23 (M-Th) *from 10am-3:30pm at the
Washington State History Museum.

Each day will feature writing and performance workshops with local poets,
field trips, and lunch. Poets and spoken word artists at all levels of
interest are encouraged to register. Space is limited, so don't delay!

  • The camp is open to poets ages 13-18, up to rising seniors.
  • Camp is free and lunch will be provided. All necessary materials will
    be provided.
  • Each day will contain writing and performance workshops, and some days
    will contain field trips that require guardian approval.
  • We are doing our best to ensure geographic, racial, and gender
    diversity and equity among our campers. Poets from traditionally
    underrepresented groups are encouraged to register.
  • Camp will start each day promptly at 10am. We will finish at 3:30pm.
    If you are unable to attend the camp for the entire duration, please let us
    know on your registration form.
