To All – It’s been nearly 24 hours since we raced last night. If you would like a copy of the ”unofficial” results, please e-mail me. I guess we’re all still laughing about last night’s race. Race Committee Chairman Howie Rinehart opted for a quick D-x course when a light westerly filled in enough to start the race. (Most thought it was probably a good call.) Unfortunately, the westerly breeze strengthened and the Group 1 boats were finishing downwind with their spinnakers flying just as the Group 3 boats were starting. Lead boat Breakaway finished the race in just under 12 ½ minutes. Oh, my goodness. Even the America’s Cup races are more than 20 minutes! Afterwards the patio was full and the Snack Bar did a good business on this warm summer evening with a full moon rising. Hey, on the river ya never know…. See you next Wednesday.
