Crew                          Ben, Brad & Kevin

Remarks:

Chichi Jima is a lovely small Island with about 2100 people, no air
service except seaplane for emergency.  Weekly ferry service to Tokyo.

Customs and Coast Guard make Guatemala seem like a breeze.  We also
had forms from Harbor Control, Quarantine, Immigration & Police.  The
Coast Guard really didn't want us to go to Tokyo, he said it is too
crowded for us with thousands of ships and we would need 1 months
training to go there.  I didn't tell him that that was part of the
reason we wanted to go there, because it is renowned for being
formidable especially if  there is haze or fog which is prevalent
this time of year.  We aren't trying to take the easy route around
the world.  And besides Tokyo is a fantastic big interesting and
historic city.  I have flown previously 3 times around the world and
the only city common to all trips was Tokyo which will have changed
considerably since my first trip there in 1961, 45 years ago.  Anyway
quiet persistence is the key and it looks like we are OK to go now.

We'll go in 3 days weather permitting. We've been lucky so far.
