Thanks to all the members of the public for visiting today and appreciating the spectacle of hawks! Weather: The weather today was absolutely beautiful on the tower. Sunny with a slight north wind and partly cloudy made for excellent hawk watching. Raptor Observations: WOW! 33,000 broad-wings! What an amazing day! We were so excited to see so many broad-wings again today. We also had lots of harriers, bald eagles and turkey vultures. Non-raptor Observations: There were a nice selection of warblers flying about in the trees today, however most of our attention needed to be turned to the hawks. We also spotted the first group of rusty blackbirds for the year and the sandhill cranes returned this morning on the marsh. https://ebird.org/checklist/S119288444 Predictions: Tomorrows weather should be similar to today, and there may be more broad-wings too see if you missed your chance.
