Landscape / Tree Pruning
Despite the cool weather this spring, our landscapes have enjoyed vigorous
growth. Many neighbors have already undertaken pruning and trimming
activities, and it looks great! A reminder that our covenants require that
no tree, bush, or hedge can impair anyone's protected views. Protected
views include those of the Cascades, Bellevue skyline, Mount Rainier, Lake
Washington, Seattle skyline and the Olympics. Hedges must be no more than
six feet tall, four feet for street-facing hedges. You can work
neighbor-to-neighbor, send a Vuegram via our web site, involve the Good
Neighbor committee, or use City of Bellevue Mediation Services (at no cost)
to resolve any issues.
Car Prowls / Thefts - Safety
Car prowls and theft are a continuing problem in the city and in our
neighborhood. In the last month, we know of several car prowls and one auto
theft that occurred. Please consider these safety reminders:
. Lock your car at all times when unattended.
. If your car has a security system, be sure it is activated
when the car is locked.
. Park in your garage if possible. If not, be sure your car
is locked and in a well-lit area.
. Install motion activated lights near where you park.
. Parking in the street is not advised. Cars parked in the
street are prime prowling targets.
. Remove all packages from your vehicles. Criminals look
through car windows to see if there is anything worth taking.
. Remove all portable electronics, CD/DVD players, GPS units,
games, etc.
. Ensure there is no "circle" mark on the windshield from an
attaching suction cup.
. Report suspicious activity. If you see something
suspicious, call 911.
Picnic Reminder
A reminder that our annual picnic is scheduled for Sunday, August 28th from
4-8pm. This is a great opportunity to meet and re-connect with neighbors in
a casual, fun setting, and we hope to see you there!
August Board Meeting Re-schedule
Please note that the August meeting of the Vuecrest board has been
rescheduled. The meeting has been moved the Aug 16th, and will be held at
the Adell residence on Hilltop Road.
