April 18, first house wren heard,  11 days earlier than
last year.

Ruby-crowned Kinglet flitting in Japanese maples, picking
at leaf buds.

A lot of early morning calls and songs, cardinals, white throated
sparrows, northern mockingbirds, song sparrows, eastern phoebes,
and the usual non-migrators. Northern flicker constantly calling
and moving around its territory.
