Report Back on Egg Hunt by Eileen Foley
Despite the overcast skies and low temperatures, we had a great turnout at our Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Many thanks to all our "EGGtraordinary" volunteers, who packed the 1,000+ eggs, and helped organize the morning festivities. Special call out to our bunny friends, big and small that made the morning so special for our kiddos. Also, a huge thank you to the Wittmans and Kadavys for hosting the hunt. There were live bunnies to cuddle and even the Easter Bunny himself made an appearance!
Finally, if you would like to recycle your Easter Eggs for next year’s hunt, there will be a box outside my door this coming week for collection. Address: 917 Evergreen Drive.
Neighborhood Enhancement Project
The February Newsletter introduced you to the Vuecrest Director’s involvement in the NEP. Now, we will need your involvement for the opportunity to receive city funds for a “Vuecrest” enhancement project. Please read the following for the latest information from the NEP city Coordinator:
The City of Bellevue’s Neighborhood Enhancement Program (NEP) is coming to your Northwest Bellevue neighborhood area next month with more than $300,000 in available funds for you and your neighbors to spend.
NEP is a city-funded, capital improvements program that provides residents with the opportunity to propose and select enhancement projects for their neighborhoods. Attached is an informational sheet on the program.
Please join us for the Northwest Bellevue NEP Kick-off meeting that will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, from 6:30-8:00pm, at the Northwest Arts Center, 9825 NE 24th Street, Bellevue. City staff will provide attendees with a brief overview of the program guidelines and schedule, answer questions, and invite you and your neighbors to share, discuss and submit project ideas.
Following the Kick-off meeting, each household in Northwest Bellevue will receive a prepaid NEP Project Request Form in the mail. We encourage you to use this form, or go to the online project request form that will be available on the NEP website following the meeting, to submit as many NEP project requests as you’d like. All project ideas must be submitted by May 28, 2018.
For more information on NEP and to see examples of projects that other neighborhood areas have used NEP funds for, please visit: https://www.bellevuewa.gov/nep https://nam02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bellevuewa.gov%2Fnep&data=02%7C01%7C%7C4ab04e719afb4d0c830408d59501135b%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C636578754684251161&sdata=e%2Bd%2FaIdOJC1q%2B6qinTCIrqmpz4CjB3lMljz03Z%2FMYr0%3D&reserved=0.
If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Please share this information with your neighbors and members of your neighborhood association. We’d love to have all Northwest Bellevue residents participate!
