I have an update on the Nordhavn 43, Lands End, which departed a week or so ago from Dana Point. The boat is occupied by at least 5 West Point grads. They have varying degrees of nautical experience, I have yet to confirm exactly how much. They do have a schedule, planning on arriving at the USMA Class of 1957 50 year reunion in May of 07. They made a short shake down cruise prior to leaving, but I think it's fair to say they really are doing this in an aggressive way. I mentioned in one of my posts that this is likely a pretty unique group of people. My research confirmed this opinion as I discovered the owner of the boat was re-activated for the Iraq war, at 69 years of age! He is an eye surgeon who returned to active duty, going in-country to treat wounded troops in Iraq. I'll provide more information as it becomes available!
