IN THE SPIRIT Arts Market & Northwest Native Festival

This event is held at the Washington State History Museum, Tacoma Art Museum, and Museum of Glass, with indoor and outdoor activities.
The annual IN THE SPIRIT Arts Market & Northwest Native Festival is back for 2021! The festival will be held in person on Saturday, August 7, from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM in the Tacoma Museum District. This beloved summer tradition celebrates the diverse Native cultures of our region and is hosted by the Washington State History Museumhttps://www.washingtonhistory.org/, Tacoma Art Museumhttps://www.tacomaartmuseum.org/, and Museum of Glasshttps://www.museumofglass.org/. The indoor/outdoor event is free and open to the public, including free admission to all three museums. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

All-day festival activities, 10:00 AM-5:00 PM:
Arts Market: Meet artist vendors to learn more about their crafts and shop for original art, jewelry, textiles, and a wide range of hand-crafted products.
Art-making: engage in hands-on activities at all three museums. Quinault artist and storyteller Harvest Moon<https://iamharvestmoon.com/> will facilitate making corn husk dolls at the History Museum. Make prints and buttons at TAM, and MOG will have more button-making!
Exhibitions: Explore the IN THE SPIRIT Contemporary Native Arts<https://www.washingtonhistory.org/exhibit/in-the-spirit-contemporary-native-arts-2021/> exhibition and vote for the People's Choice awards at the History Museum. Food: The Price Family will have fry bread and tasty fry bread tacos for purchase at the History Museum. Food and beverages are also available at TAM's Cafe.
