Avoiding Jelly Fish in the Chesapeake

We have lived and boated on the Chesapeake for 22 years - traveled / anchored out / stayed at all the popular places from C&D canal to Portsmouth and beyond ( Did Loop in 2012 thru 2013)  and have always left our 2 vessels in the water year around at our home on the Bay.  We have never had any jelly fish or other intake clogging issues ( even in the horrible plastic bag ridden Inner Harbor ) Luck -- maybe, but in all our travels with the many buddy boaters we travel with, I have yet to hear of any jelly fish issue.
