From Dan Rottino: 03/08/13 - East Haddam yard -- 2 COMMON REDPOLL at thistle feeders again. From Frank Mantlik: 03/07/13 - Milford, Silver Sands State Park -- a large (2500 estimated) flock of Greater Scaup continues off the west side of Charle's Island, visible from the Park beach. I had limited time, but scoped through them for something different (Redhead or even Tufted Duck could be among Scaup flocks). Conditions weren't the best (snowing and windy). Birders in the area may want to spend some time looking through this flock. From Joanne Luppi: 03/08/13 - Portland backyard -- 8 to 10 Common Redpolls feeding on nyjer sock, and seeds below on the snow. Had to refill the sock.
