This case raises an interesting Heck v Humphreys question.  The plaintiffs were all convicted as a result of their pleas of guilty in state court.  They now allege that they were afforded ineffective assistance of counsel due to the funding scheme for indigent defendants.  We may want to be on the lookout for this one going to the SCT.
