From Dave Winston:
03/09/15 - Stamford -- Dickcissel at the feeders.

From Jim Carr:
03/09/15 - Madison, Hammonasset Beach State Park -- 9:00 AM; small
group of Bonaparte's Gulls off west side of Meig's Point jetty.

From Patrick Comins:
03/09/15 - Stratford -- There was a Rough-legged Hawk at the McKinney
Refuge, seen from the Lordship Causeway west of the airport.
Stratford Point -- Eurasian Wigeon in the morning at lowish tide.
around 2 PM; all three scoter species, including  at least a half
dozen Black Scoters.

From Don Morgan:
03/09/15 - Milford, Mondo Pond -- 1 Redhead.
Caswell Cove -- 1 PEREGRINE FALCON, circling around the  power plant,
and appeared to land on the roof somewhere.

From Bill Batsford:
03/09/15 - Madison, Hammonasset Beach State Park -- Rough-legged Hawk;
Bonaparte's Gulls; Iceland Gull (thanks Keith); Red-necked Grebe (from
moraine trail); Purple Sandpiper.

From Greg Hanisek, Bill Banks:
03/09/15 - Stratford, Bond's Dock - Imm. GOLDEN EAGLE. The bird was
seen flying at a low angle above the horizon (looking away from the
Housatonic River). Through binoculars it appeared to have minimal
white markings at the base of the primaries, indicating an imm. After
getting it in the scope, a fairly brief look still at a low angle
before it moved out of sight showed little or no white on the bird, so
we posted it as a likely adult. However, it turned out that Frank
Mantlik was about a quarter-mile away, saw the post, started looking
and found the bird. He saw it soaring at a higher angle, and in
addition to minimal white in the wings also saw white in the tail.
Since this surely was the same bird, it should go as an imm. Our angle
of viewing prevented us from seeing some marks Frank was able to see.
Golden Eagle features included small head and bill relative to Bald
Eagle (c. 6 were in the area), dyhedral, lack of blotchy white areas
typical of imm. Bald.

From Frank Mantlik:
03/09/15 - Stratford, Birdseye St boatramp -- 1:45-2:50; male
BOAT-TAILED GRACKLE in small unfrozen salt marsh at mouth of sewerage
creek, imm GOLDEN EAGLE soaring upriver near power plant (thanks Bill
Banks & Greg Hanisek!), 10 vocal FISH CROWS.

From Michaelene Komara:
03/09/15 - Madison, Hammonasset Beach State Park -- 8 Bonaparte Gull,
one Iceland Gull, off Moraine.

From Phil Rusch:
03/09/15 - Storrs, UConn, Horsebarn Hill -- This afternoon in the
newly melted stream in the meadow below the Horsebarn, 2 Wilson's
Snipe.

From Lynnette Clemens:
03/09/15 - Greenwich, Grass Island -- around 2 PM; Redheads were once
again in the vicinity of the long dock in front of the pink stucco
estate on the western side.
