A fairly cold windy day resulted in a rather slow day. No report of the TOWNSEND’S WARBLER seen yesterday between Blue Heron Picnic area and Sanctuary Picnic area. Only 6 species of wood warbler have been seen.
At the Tip a few SURF SCOTERS were noted among many hundreds of DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT, RED-BREASTED MERGANSER and SCAUP SP. Also seen were 3 HORNED GREBE. A COMMON LOON was noted off shore. A good number of BONAPARTE’S GULLS were also seen. A PILEATED WOODPECKER was near the tram loop.

Woodland trail, a RED-HEADED WOODPECKER was noted near bridge A and a HOODED WARBLER was first seen near post 19 but it headed north from there.

At the end of Shuster Trail there were a quantity of waterfowl offshore and a few COMMON LOON were noted.

On Tilden Wood trail, a couple of NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH were noted. Also three SANDHILL CRANES and two BALD EAGLES were seen flying over.
