This is very good information to have. We use our autopilot when
cruising the Gulf ICW when not crowded, but have never tried it going
under a bridge and never will. About 6 months ago, as part of our work
to prepare for our Great Loop trip when we retire in 3 years, we
replaced our antique (1995) electronics with a complete Garmin package
and have been very pleased with the results. I made the decision to stay
with all one brand to avoid the kind of problems that Ray described,
Garmin blaming Simrad who blames Raymarine etc. etc.. So far so good.
