Habitat Stewards Training

The National Wildlife Federation, in partnership with the Pierce Conservation District and with support from the Green Tacoma Partnership, is excited to offer the Habitat Stewards Training course March 6-27, 2013.
Over the course of four evening classes and two field trips, participants will learn from local experts about natural resource issues and concepts such as backyard habitat, local ecology and native plants, stormwater run-off, and marine environments. After completing the course, participants will become certified NWF habitat stewards and must provide 30 hours of service educating others and/or assisting in the creation, restoration, or preservation of wildlife habitat within a year of completing their training.

Wednesday evening classes, 5:30-8:00 p.m., Tacoma
Saturday field trips, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., March 16 and 23
Course fee: $30
Registration limited to 25 participants.

Note: Those interested in attending the Green Tacoma Partnership's Habitat Stewards Orientation on March 30 are encouraged to take this course, although it is not a requirement. Participation in one is not dependent on the other.
