You Are a Sea Cucumber, You Are a Wolf: Writing Like an Animal presented by Creative Colloquy and the Puyallup Public Library

Join Puyallup poet and artist Troy Kehm-Goins  Aug 4, @6 PM as we explore the voices of animals in literature. Through examples, writing prompts, exercises, and games we will try to capture our own “animal voice” on the page as a short poem, flash fiction, or the perfect sentence to include in a larger piece.

This workshop will be a series of playful writing exercises and games based around writing in character as animals. Most of the games will focus on the poetic form of the "American Sentence," an invention of the American poet, Allen Ginsberg. Grounding these American Sentences in work that is written about animals or from the point of view of an animal or animals, will allow for some creative, imaginative, and playful work for writers of all ages and levels of expertise.

This event is FREE to attend but registration is required. https://puyallupwa-gov.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJ0scu2uqzwjH9SsNHlNL4pIW_Pq3Ie_1SeM
